invisalign invisible bracesWhat is it?

Invisalign works by using a series of removable and comfortable aligners that are virtually invisible. Patients who are already self-conscious of their smiles don’t have to worry about drawing any more attention to themselves while in treatment. Invisalign utilizes advanced 3D computer imaging technology to guide every step of treatment. From your very first visit, you can see what your smile will look like along the way as each set of aligners guides the teeth to their new locations.

What sets Invisalign apart?

Patients love Invisalign for a host of reasons. First, the aligners are virtually invisible. That means no metal brackets and wires, and no extra attention drawn to your smile while you’re in treatment. You can eat and drink what you’d like throughout treatment because the aligners are removable. That also means no extra time brushing and flossing around brackets and wires. The smooth plastic aligners are comfortable, and no wires mean fewer appointments. Every Invisalign patient is given a virtual treatment plan that will show exactly what your smile will be when treatment has finished.

How does it work?

Each set of aligners is worn for about two weeks. To ensure teeth move properly, the aligners should be worn for about 22 hours each day. That means you should only take them out to eat, drink and care for your teeth. Every time you move from one set of aligners to another, your smile is one step closer to being complete. Each aligner set will be perfectly created to achieve a certain tooth movement, until your teeth reach their final positions. You’ll have appointments in our office once every six weeks to ensure your teeth are moving as they should and treatment is progressing properly. The average time spent in Invisalign treatment is about nine to 15 months, and the average patient uses between 18 and 30 sets of aligners.
